Bill Barnard's Schlumpf'd and Rohloff'd "Tachyon"

"The bicycle was designed prior to the classes, however the wheels were built and the lugged steel frame brazed during the wheel building and the brazing classes, February and March of 2002. The painting of the frame took place at Cycle Art.

"The bicycle is unique in that it is built around the 14-speed Rohloff Hub and the frame built using the ‘OEM Rohloff Disc Brake Dropouts’ (with integral disc brake mount) and the Schlumpf Speed drive. The Frame is made from Columbus tubing and Henry James Investment Cast lugs. The current sprocket provides gearing from 17 gear inches to 156 gear inches. Even though the top limit is too high for normal riders this configuration provides another 4 useable gears."
