Register for ClassesEnrolling in our classes is simple. Choose the method you wish to register with, include the minimum required registration fee to hold your spot in class, and submit your application to us either through the mail, by fax machine, or electronically via secure server. If registering by mail, a check or money order for the registration fee amount must accompany your application. If registering by fax or electronically, we accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express as payment. Please note, the tuition and registration fee amounts are payable in U.S. funds only and payment in some form must accompany your application in order to be valid. UBI does not discriminate in admission based on race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age or ethnic origin. VETERANS:UBI Ashland and UBI Portland are both approved by the Oregon Department of Education for the education and training of veterans and other eligible persons. Veterans with questions on using VA education benefits should contact us for more information. NON-US Citizens:This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students. Non-US citizens may now attend either UBI location, Ashland or Portland. other registration requirements:Minimum Age Requirements: Students enrolling in the Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance class must be at least 15 years old at the time class starts. Students enrolling in the Professional Repair and Shop Operation or Advanced Seminar classes must be at least 16 years old at the time class starts. Students in any of our frame building classes must be 18 years old at the start of class. Upon receipt of your application and registration fee(s), we will immediately process your application and send you an acceptance letter by mail. Your tuition balance will be due on or before the first day of class. Your tuition includes instruction, student handbooks, use of facilities, tools and instructional materials. Class spots are filled on a first come, first served basis, so we urge you to register early. Currently, mechanics classes are filling two to three months in advance of the class start date, and frame building classes are filling as far as six months in advance. Cancellation and Refund Policy:You may cancel enrollment prior to the starting date by giving written notice to UBI via postal mail, fax, or e-mail. If receipt of your cancellation notice occurs within 5 business days of UBI's receipt of the enrollment agreement, you will receive a 100% refund of all monies paid. If receipt of a cancellation notice occurs after 5 business days of receipt of the agreement, up to the first day of class(es), a refund will be given minus the registration fee. In lieu of forfeiture of the registration fee, you may request a one-time transfer of your registration to a future class if the request occurs at least 30 calendar days prior to the start of the cancelled class, and it must be applied to a class scheduled within one year of the cancelled class. However, if you cancel the second class, the registration fee will be forfeited. Once class(es) have begun, if you withdraw from class(es) prior to completion of 50% of the class, you may be entitled to a prorated refund depending on the day of withdrawal, minus the registration fee. UBI's Veterans Refund policy complies with CFR21.4255. In the event that a veteran or eligible person fails to enter course, withdraws or is dismissed at any time prior to completion, the unused portion of tuition and all ut $10 of the registration is refunded on a pro-rata basis. Refunds will be made within 40 days of the last date of attendance. |
