ABOUT KAISEI TUBING
Kaisei tubing is a direct descendent of Ishiwata, a Japanese company that established a significant reputation in the market for high-end steel bicycle tubing in the 1970's and 1980's. When Ishiwata closed its doors in 1993, Kaisei became home to many of Ishiwata's most experienced employees and also took over its butted tube manufacturing process. Kaisei currently holds a 60 per cent share of Japan's elite Keirin frame building market. United Bicycle Institute is proud to be the exclusive U.S. distributor of Kaisei tubing.
Kaisei Tube Sets from UBI
UBI stocks Kaisei 4130 tubesets in a variety of gauges and butt configurations, as well as standard and oversized dimensions. Also, we offer single tubes for special applications, such as the aero-shaped "Gigatube" down tube, an externally-butted seat tube, and extra-beefy seat stays. Our ordering process allows builders to create semi-custom tube sets by ordering the main frame tubes as a set, and then specifying the configuration of fork blades, seat stays and chain stays.
How to Order
The first step in ordering is to choose "Steel Tubing" from the navigation bar at the top of this page. Then, using the navigation on the left side of the page, you can sort through our tubing offerings based on tube size and butting. After you've chosen the tube set you want, click "add to cart." The cost of the tube set includes one set of steerer tube, seat stays, chain stays and fork blades, but these must be chosen individually to complete your set.
Next, using the navigation on the left side of the page, you browse through the available options for steerer tube, stays and fork blades. When you decide on a configuration, use the "Options" drop down box and choose "With main tubest purchase." Then click "add to cart." This must be done for steerer tube, seat stays, chain stays and fork blades to complete your tubeset! If you decide to purchase more than one set of chain stays, for example, the first set will be included in the tube set price. Any additional chain stays will be billed as separate items. You may order as many as you need, but again, only the first set is included with the main tube set price.
