For the most part they still may be using the same words..now as they used back in 1984 [I have not read one in a while] Getting your hands on most any manual will give you pretty much what the old one had... not that you will find it very useful. As I said I have no idea what the bike is.. If it is a deraileur bike it would be either a 5 speed or 10 speed and that is easy enough to count.not that knowing the number of gears really matters.. I do not think it would be easy to try and explain braking or shifting online...I suggest you try someone local..a bike shop or bike club. >I purchased this bike from individual. He has no owner manual and knows nothing about bike; no of gears, operation of gears,brakes,etc. Bike is in good shape any information you might have would be greatly appreciated.
