>>Has anyone else had problems with Mavic Ceramic rims? I have a Crossmax Sl wheelset and I wore through the rim, when I called mavic they said that this happened because I was using ceramic compound pads with these rims, which mavic recommends against. They reccomend using regular pads with their rims...

>i have used mavic rims in the past extensively, and only the ceramic ones. i have seen them wear through quickly on road rims and then controversly not on the mountain rims, where you think there would be more wear. it all depends on how the ceramic coating on the rim comes out of the factory. also between different brands i have noticed differences between the pad breaking down or the rim breaking down. on mavic use regular pads and then on bontrager use ceramic pads.
