Message: I'm installing a new Look carbon fiber fork with a carbon steering column on a road bike. Look's instructions state not to use any type of sharp object that would gouge the steering column. That seems to make sense since it could lead to failure. In installing the front brake caliper, I notice the serated and otherwise sharp washers on the brake pivot bolt that help keep the calipers centered over the wheel. These washers will gouge the fork crown. Assuming Look's instructions apply to the fork crown as well as the steering column, is it advisable to use these sharp edged washers when installing the calipers? Has anyone had any experience doing this. What can you use in place of these washers to help center the calipers? Assuming the same applies to the fork crown
