Message: Handling will be a little slower-steering and might make the bike "flop" a little at really low speeds. Talk to Litespeed about their recommendation as far as the strength of the head tube. When dual-crown forks came out I had visions of Ritchey P-21's other light steel frames with their head tubes torn off from the inappropriate load transfer going into the frame, but ti might be strong enough to get away with it. But talk to Litespeed first! >Hi, and thanks for reading. I have an early 90's litespeed full suspension bike. The rear travel is about 2-21/2 inches. It's a rear triangle with a high pivot and the shock mounted below the seat post. The steerer tube is 1" and currently has a mag 21 with a lift kit, giving it about 2" of travel. I want to install a judy xl dual crown fork (it comes in 1"). The fork has 4" of travel. I've heard that this isn't recommended because it puts extra stress on the head tube area. Can I put this fork on? What will it do to the handling? Right now the front end is too low and I tend to go over the bars on steep descents. Thanks again.
