Well this question doesn't have an absolute answer, it would depend upon the frames being compared. Differences like this exist between different carbon or titanium frames, not just between the two types.

In my opinion, if you don't have boo-koo bucks, and want a frame that can be comfortable, stiff, light and durable all in one stick to steel! Steel has about the best durability of all frame materials, and some of the new steel alloy's come close to the weight of titanium and carbon's. But the best part is they can cost 1/3 as much. You can build a steel frame up with a Super Record group for less than the cost of some carbon or titanium frames! And they would only save you a pound in weight.

If you are set on titanium or carbon, you will need to have frames in mind to compare and ask on forums for input from people who have ridden those frames.
