Message: : : I don't really understand the advantages of a Cro-Moly frame vs. a steel one. If anybody could help me in answering my question would be great.: Cro-Moly is a steel alloy. By the addition of chromium, molybdenum and other elements, the material's mechanical properties are enhanced. Cro-Moly has the same weight and modulus (stiffness) as carbon steel, but has higher yield and tensile strength. Is cro-moly tempered in any way after the welding or brazing process? Would it be feasible to bend the forks on a bike using the spot heating (I don't know the proper term) technique? Is there a better way to bend the forks? Does anyone know the details of how to do it? Thanks. Alex
