Thanks Robert, good idea but I guess I needed another toy in the garage. Got a dremel tool and used a small carbide cutting wheel to VERY carefully cut the cup in two places. Once a wedge was cut, the rest peeled out.
Bottom line, the Dura Ace cups (vintage 1992-1995ish) are plenty long and do not need much if any loctite to keep them in place. Seems I got over enthusiastic with my process last year....now I recall degreasing the shell and using lots of blue loctite.
In retrospect, the degreasing and blue loctite was a bad idea. This time I'll actually go the opposite route and use anti-seize w/ proper torque and run it.
