Message: >Ksyriums do appear to run better than nucleons. i have nucleons and they are really good, especially with high pressure clinchers - i use stelvio stradus @ 140psi. However 2 people in our club have ksyriums and they pass the 'valve test' better than the nucleons ie if you put the valve on the front wheel at 10 oclock the Ks spin to drop the valve to the bottom and actually oscillate around the bottom. the nucleons hardly move. The best bearings will even pass this test on the rear wheel, overcoming the ratchet on the freewheel. The nucleons are lighter than the Ks(just. Either are great.Jeff) >I am considering getting a new pair of wheels and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on either the Ksyriums or the Nucleons. I am wondering how easy the wheels are to fix in the event of breaking a spoke or truing the wheel. I've also spun each wheel and the Mavic seems much smoother (you can't even feel the bearings) and spins about 25% longer than the Campy. Does the facct that I can't feel the bearings mean the wheel is faster. I can definately feel the bearings when I spin the Nucleon. Any pluses or negatives, opinions, facts? ..............................................................try posting this to the tech forum at www.velo news.com lots of tehcies there who have probably used both sets.
