Or if this is inevitable, how do I position it correctly?...................................................................................................................................Are you saying your frame doesn't have a derailer hanger?? if so you need what I think is called a claw adapter. the dreailer attaches to it, and then is attacheaor bolts tho the rear dropout.check with LBS. One does not weld one to the chainstay or dropout.
