Message: I want to mount a Nitto (Rivendell-esque)moustache bar w/road levers on my GT (atb). It (the bike)has v-brakes, and no place to mount a rear cable guide, nor does it have the welded-on guide for for the cantis like the older GTs have. I want to use road levers. I can put a cable hanger on the stem for the front and use a canti, but I'm at a loss about the rear caliper. It was very kindly suggested earlier that I use a cable hanger for the seat tube, but I don't think that'll work, given the shape of the frame. How well do these "cable converters"- the ones that allow you to use road levers with v-brakes- work for commuting, some speed riding, etc.?
