Hehe, I was just talking about this derailuer the other day.
It is a derailuer which was made for only one or two years in the early 90's which mounted via a specialty derailuer hanger on the chainstay about two inches in front of the axle. It never caught on, but several companies made them. The end answer is you are out of luck.
You do have a few options.
If you have a frame which is S-1 compatible, you can usually get a Shimano derailuer which has a built in hanger to work from your local bike shop. Dropouts were bigger back then.
If you are trying to get a S-1 to work on your frame, get a new derailuer. There isn't a way to make the S-1 work with your frame.
Fell free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
