>i ride a road bike. is Look OK? I almost ready to get me the entry-level Look but it really is only because i see everyone using Look. Can you tell me if there is an absolute "no, no" and an absolute "plus" regarding road pedals for first time clipless users?I have both Shimano and Look pedals on my road bikes. I prefer Look with its larger cleat.
Absolute no no? Don't travel so slowly and with both feet attached so that you are in danger of stalling and unable to get a foot out in time when the bike stops.
Do do? Anticipate well in advance when you need to unship a foot. Practice emergency stops. Unship by twisting a heel outwards. Set cleats on shoes so that when pedalling your feet are aligned either parallel or toe out or toe in, just like the way you walk.
Absolute plus? Making the pedals work all the way round by pulling back and up (as well as pushing forward and down).
