Campy doesn't make down tube shifters anymore. Bar end shifters should work in mountain bars, and while they might take a while to get used to, should work just fine. ....it's likely to work better if you us a shimano rear drailer with the shimano shifters. Cog spacing between campy and shimano 9 is different but close enough it usually works.
